More ideas were gathered during a trip with the builder and architect Wesley Balmer to Mexico. The group spent nearly a week traveling to several of the little villages in the countryside near Guadalajara. They took between 5,000 and 6,000 photographs while there, documenting the designs of everything from corbels, windows and ornamental iron to interesting garden and architectural features. Once the floor plans for the house were complete, the photographs were carefully reviewed to see how many of the ideas could be incorporated into the home.
